Meet April: Stylist, Artist, Listener.
Originally from northwest Ohio, I was always drawn to create and received my bachelor’s of fine art at BGSU. I went on to take a short stint as a graphic designer before realizing sitting at a computer all day was not for me!
I moved to Denver, CO, in 2007 and started my hairstyling career. After finishing hair school, I joined an advanced education program at The Parlour salon. There, I learned from some of the best stylists in the country, which helped me build my client base and career. I continued my education with advanced training from American Crew, Vidal Sassoon, Nick Arrojo, and other skilled teachers. In 2013, I began teaching men's haircutting to new stylists in the salon education program.
I’m a stylist, painter, and newly graduated counselor/art therapist—guided by the belief that personal transformation is both an art and an act of care. I continue to be inspired by this industry, and the people who sit in my chair. I do this work with a high level of integrity for each and every client and their specific needs using my training as a listener to ensure needs are met. Everything I do with hair is always about achieving the desired outcome while maintaining the highest level of integrity and health of the hair. So much of why I do this every day is about the spark I can see on a client's face when they are in love with their hair, and it's making them feel renewed again. Specializing in balayage, blondes, and fine hair, and gray hair transformations, I am a certified Master Color Expert by the Wella Studio in Los Angeles, as well as Vidal Sassoon certified in cutting.
